About me.

Hi!

You’ve arrived at Beth’s blog for an adventure to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats.
When my neighbour’s Jackie and John suggested this trip, I didn’t hesitate to jump on board.  It sounded like an excellent thing to do.  John had just arrived back from doing the journey the other way around in 8 days.  That seemed crazy, but just over two weeks sounded sensible so here we are!

Jackie, myself, our neighbour Alex and a friend David are planning to make the trip on the 4th September this year, all collecting for different charities.
My choice is The Alzheimers Society as my father suffered with this in his later years.  He lived and worked to take care of us as a family and I wish I’d been able to do more for him when he was alive.  I miss my Dad lots and I’m hoping he’ll be proud of my efforts.

There are 700,000 people with dementia in the uk today and one in three older people will end they’re life with dementia.  Our support is vital and most appreciated.  Every year The Society invests in the Quality Research in Dementia Programme, focusing on improving the quality of life for sufferers, and in the longer term a cure.  You can find out more through the link to the Societys web site.

So I hope you will follow my on my blog through these early training days, to harder training days to the event itself.
Please feel free to leave comments,

Beth x
